INE CLAES (BRUSSELS, 1984)

Ine Claes is a Brussels-based vocal artist, music maker, composer, experimental choir conductor, performer and draughtswoman. Her artistic language is characterized by the use of everyday materials which she transforms into disorienting worlds where the meaning and interrelationships of elements are constantly shifting. She works around social themes and human characteristics but transforms these elements into collage-like dimension where she aims to take viewers and listeners into a world far from any form of logic seeking.

In 2024 she has worked as a vocal coach for the production Voice Noise by Jan Martens, as a vocal coach and choir leader for the project RECORD by Francesca Grilli and vocal coach and music director for the project Tapis Partie by Katrien Oosterlynck.

She organizes Lalagroove Experimental Choirs, for people who don't read music but want to sing.

​

Currently she is creating the sound design for the project PartiPluche by Katrien Oosterlinck. ​

Originally coming from the dance and performance field Ine has collaborated as a choreographer, dancer, vocal artist, music maker, choir director and composer with visual artists, musicians, performers, choreographers and performers such as Line Boogaerts, Benjamin Vandewalle, Andreas Halling, Aloun Marchal, Fabienne Seveillac, Maja Jantar, Sabine Molenaer, Katrien Oosterlinck, Francesca Grilli, Otacilio Melgaço, Jim Clayburgh, Mathieu Calleja, Juan Parra Cancino, Francesca Grilli, Eric Thielemans, Jerzy Bielski, Marc Doutrepont, Joâo Lobo, Els Mondelaers, Johanne Saunier and many others.
