INE CLAES (BRUSSELS, 1984)

Ine Claes is a Brussels-based music and performance maker who works as a composer, voice artist and metteur en scène. She creates music projects and performances in which she interweaves different artistic disciplines as voice, music, sound, visual arts and movement. Her artistic language is characterized by the use of everyday materials which she transforms into disorienting worlds where the meaning and interrelationships of elements are constantly shifting. She works around social themes and human characteristics but transforms these elements into dreamy collage-like dimension where she aims to take viewers and listeners into a childlike bizarre wonderland and asks them to let go of any form of logic seeking.

Ine also likes drawing.

Next to her own creations she organizes Lalagroove Experimental Choirs, for people who don't read music but want to sing.

In 2024 she has worked as a vocal coach for the production Voice Noise by Jan Martens, as a vocal coach and choir leader for the project RECORD by Francesca Grilli and vocal coach and music director for the project Tapis Partie by Katrien Oosterlynck.

Ine has collaborated with visual artists, musicians, performers, choreographers and performers such as Line Boogaerts, Benjamin Vandewalle, Andreas Halling, Aloun Marchal, Fabienne Seveillac, Maja Jantar, Otacilio Melgaço, Jim Clayburgh, Mathieu Calleja, Juan Parra Cancino, Francesca Grilli, Eric Thielemans, Jerzy Bielski, Joâo Lobo, Els Mondelaers, Johanne Saunier and many others.
